Thankful

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we wanted to take a moment to share with you what our team is thankful for. Your continued support in helping us advance our mission of conservation and wildlife education means so much to us.

We’ve had our detractors and people questioning our motives but this year has been stupendous for us. Our desire to be an Autism-friendly business became a reality in October and we opened an event room where we can host parties, meetings, and learning activities. We’ve brought in several new friends including Sylvia the sloth and our most recent adoptions Pepe and Pitu, the skunks.

Thank you for making this our best year yet. We’re looking forward to an amazing 2020. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Alek Bussell – Animal Curator – Herpetology

I’m thankful for all the amazing people I have in my life. My family, my work family, my girlfriend, and all the other people that have helped me get to where I am today. I’m also thankful for the amazing opportunity to share my passion for wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability. And of course most of all I am thankful for turtles.

Jamie Barron – Operations Manager

I am thankful for my family and friends and being able to work with my favorite animals (alligators of course!). Doing what I love every day!

Jan Dunn – Retail Manager

I am grateful for the wonderful people and animals I have the privilege to work with and the amazing cause that we are focused on, like education and conservation. Thanks to all who support our mission at the Alligator Attraction.

Jill Spuria – Senior Curator / Education Coordinator

I am grateful for the love I receive from my biological family and my work family. I’m grateful for the bond I share with my fur babies at home and the ones I care for at work. I am also thankful for avocado toast for keeping me energized for work each day. ️️

Amy Sperry – Aquatic Caretaker and Tour Guide

I am thankful for my kids and my family for allowing me to uproot everything, move 1100 miles and finish my degree. I am thankful for the opportunities I have had to work one on one with so many types of animals and learn about them, along with the rescue rehab process. And last but not least I am thankful for all my coworkers and friends along the way who allowed me to be my crazy goofy self without judgment. Oh… and sharks….. I’m very thankful for those.

Kyle Barron – Animal Keeper and Tour Guide

I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to educate people on the animals I care about. I am even more thankful that I can create a personal bond with each animal that we rescue. The workplace here is such a positive one from the animals, my coworkers, and the management. Everyone is so friendly. I truly am thankful for such a wonderful opportunity.

I am thankful for my family, friends, and the wonderful people I’m surrounded by each day. I’m thankful to be a part of something that inspires and educates while bringing awareness to creatures great and small. I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had so far and truly loving what I do!

Monica Miller – Animal Curator – Arachnids

I am thankful for new beginnings as every day is a new adventure! I’m thankful for being surrounded by amazing friends, family, and all the animals I get to work with each day. For teaching new animal lovers about the different species that surround us in our wonderful world that we live in and call home.

Sonny Flynn – Owner/Managing Partner

I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for an extremely supportive business partner, family, and friends. I am extremely grateful to have an extraordinary team that follows my lead without question. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to be a small business owner and to be able to contribute back to our community. Finally, I am thankful we have a place to give our animal family homes and the love they need and deserve.

Our animals are healthy, happy, and will always have a home. Each day I come to work I look around and say wow, I appreciate my team, we share the drive to educate on these beautiful animals, but in reality, we would not have a business without our animal family and you. Thank you!
