For over nine years, the Alligator Attraction has offered hands-on experiences with animals, enriching the lives of Florida residents and guests who visit us in John’s Pass. We are committed to the continued well-being of our animals, guests, and team members. As a part of our ongoing efforts to assist our community in preventing the spread of COVID-19, we have implemented enhanced protocols and procedures you will notice during your visit. We’d like to share eight ways we are keeping you safe!
1. Masking Up
It’s not just a fashion statement, it’s a way of life! All of our Alligator Attraction team members are wearing masks for your safety and ours. Adult guests are required to wear masks while visiting our attraction. Guests younger than ten (10) years of age and people with a medical condition or disability that prevents the wearing of a mask or face covering are exempt from this requirement.
2. Wide Open Spaces
Our capacity is limited and carefully monitored to ensure physical distancing. We are voluntarily operating at 50% capacity, exceeding the Florida requirements, in order to allow plenty of space for guests to visit the animals. Guests of the Alligator Attraction are asked to refrain from visiting if they are in a high-risk or vulnerable category for COVID-19, are not feeling well or have a fever.
3. Social Distancing
Guests must always social distance (6 feet) unless with family while at the Alligator Attraction. Visuals throughout the attraction suggest where guests should stand to view the animals. Team members are on hand to assist guests and encourage social distancing.
4. Keeping it Clean
We have enhanced our cleaning protocols to keep everything sanitary. We are frequently cleaning and disinfecting touchpoints using a solution approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
5. Sanitize, Sanitize, Sanitize
According to the CDC, The risk of animal-to-person spread is considered to be low. But we can’t be too careful, so we require hand sanitizing before any person is permitted to handle an animal. Hand sanitizing stations can be found throughout the attraction. We keep them fully stocked and request that guests use them frequently.
6. Keeping our Animals Healthy
All Alligator Attraction animal receive a screening examination from a veterinarian, veterinary technician, or experienced animal care and handling specialist on a daily basis. Our animals are also examined daily for signs of illness.
7. Keeping Payments Easy and Clean
Touchless payment and online ticket purchase options are available to avoid cash handling. For more than 9 years, the Alligator Attraction has relied on your visits to provide for the animals in our care and to help save abandoned pets. In addition to expert animal care and wellness, ticket revenue also helps cover additional cleaning and sanitation costs to keep all guests safe during a visit.
8. Team Member Health Protocols
The staff of Alligator Attraction is participating in daily training to maintain social distancing in the workplace, use hand sanitizer regularly, and limit gatherings of employees. Staff members have been instructed to stay home if they have any of the following symptoms: fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath.
We go beyond full compliance with all CDC guidelines to make sure we do all we can to keep guests safe. Here at Alligator Attraction, guests can experience animals with their families, explore our diverse habitats, and take part in fun, educational activities that bring us closer to the natural world. Together, we can all do our part to stay healthy while also enjoying and caring for the rescued animals at our attraction. We invite you to join us for a family outing one day soon!
